Jill closed the art@wintergarden business at the end of 2017. In Jill's own words, "It has been an absolute pleasure to work with some of our region’s top artists and sculptors whose support and friendship have inspired and driven this little business. Our regular visitors were always a joy to talk to and I will miss that terribly. Design Markets and performances, emerging artists and fund raisers, so many wonderful memories. The support from local media and encouragement from so many individuals kept me buoyant. Over the years there were two artists who shared the load with me, thank you Lianne and Faye. Thanks to Michele for her media support and patience, Chantelle and Ines for their time, encouragement and advice, Greg for the web page updates every month and thanks to The Wintergarden crew for being there and all the wonderful artists over so many extraordinary exhibitions. With the close of this chapter I am very excited to be focusing on my own art practice a bit more and to continue to teach."

Artist/Proprietor Jill Shalless, founder of "Dabble 'n' Daub" moved into "The Wintergarden" in late 2004.

In 2006 "Dabble 'n' Daub" expanded to the mezzanine floor with the combined efforts of two resident artists, Faye Owen and Lianne Gough.

In 2009 with the evolution of the business and the inherent influence of the beautiful building we are located in, the business took on the new name art@wintergarden and has continued to flourish. Our emphasis is focused on the world class local art community.

2011 saw art@wintergarden win the Best Micro Business Award in the Geelong Advertiser Business Excellence Awards.

2012 introduced Chantelle Hodgson to the team as Gallery Assistant. She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to art@wintergarden featuring her annual curation of the Sculpture Exhibition in September.

2014 art@wintergarden celebrated 10 years of business in The Wintergarden building with our August exhibition ‘Ten 4 Ten’ featuring ten of the galleries most exhibited artists.
